Fiesta production started in Germany-Ford

Ford’s new subcompact Fiesta’s production is started at Germany plant according to Ford Motor Co. Ford is undertaking its global development project. Fiesta is initial part of its development process. The target and intend of this process is to develop international models with same underpinnings but modified according to regional liking. Its sale is scheduled to start in Europe initially in the period ending before 2010.

According to Ford till the end of the year production in China and Thailand for Asia will also be started. In January in Spain Ford located its Valencia assembly plant, and now Cologne Stamping and Assembly plant is the first Ford assembly facility to construct the new car.

Mexico’s Cuautitlan assembly plant of Ford will now produce hatchback and sedan models of the Fiesta for North America market. This plant earlier used to produce F-Series trucks. New production will be started in 2010.

Ford desire to cut its costs and to encourage North America car schedule for this it had planned to launch six new models in North America from Europe in near years and Fiesta is one of them. In the Cologne facility it anticipates to produce 148,000 Fiestas in this year. According to Ford the plant has the capacity to produce 1,900 Fiesta and Fusion vehicle per day on its full competence
